The Plant Variety Rights Office administers the Plant Variety Rights Act 1987 under which grants of plant variety rights may be issued to breeders for their new plant varieties. The site provides access to the Plant Variety Rights Act, an informative guide to Plant Variety Rights, the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights Journal, and searching of Plant Variety Rights (updated nightly). Plant Variety Rights applicants can access the necessary application forms and a schedule of fees, and full contact details for the Plant Variety Rights Office are provided.
