  In order to evaluate the possible consequences of nuclear testing on the health of populations, a delegation of three doctors from Medecins sans Frontieres visited French Polynesia between 3 and 10 July, 1995. Their mission was supplemented by bibliographic research on the subject and by a series of contacts with government and scientific circles in Paris. The first part of this document explains the consequences of exposure to ionising radiation in human beings and analyses the information available concerning the mass irradiation of populations. The second part consists of a series of reports compiled from information collected in French Polynesia. Includes references, and list of contacts.
